Workshop 1: Digital Assistive Technology

Start this session by watching the Introduction, then watch either the Android Tips & Tricks or the Apple Tips & Tricks depending on which type of device you have. You can also download or printout the handouts for each of these videos. 

Once you have watched these, you can watch whichever of the mini presentations are of interest to you. 

You can jump ahead to the relevant chapters using the icon with three horizontal lines in the bottom right of each video. You may also like to slow down the video by clicking the settings icon (the cog) next to the chapters icon, then clicking "Speed".

This video covers what is a smart device, how do you choose which device is right for you, what can you access and how can you access it. It also includes details of apps for visual access, physical access, to support executive functioning, for emotional regulation and to support communication. 

Android Tips & Tricks

This video demonstrates how to navigate an Android device including settings, display options, using Smart lock, biometrics and security settings as well as accessibility features, software updates, using widgets and troubleshooting. 

Apple Tips & Tricks

This video demonstrates how to navigate an Apple device including settings in the Control Centre, display options, accessibility features, Siri, emergency SOS, passwords, apps, software updates, using widgets and troubleshooting.
